The success of Kheel Jasli did not go unnoticed. When the residents of neighbouring Kheel Barser reached out, Earth Healers Foundation said yes without hesitation.
What We did
Earth Healers Foundation responded promptly with an initial site visit by Dr. Priya, who assessed the waste situation and engaged with local residents and community leaders. A community meeting followed, bringing together households and shop owners to identify key challenges and agree on a structured way forward. The Foundation formally adopted Kheel Barser and introduced a regular garbage collection system, while clearing existing dumping sites and conducting awareness sessions on responsible waste disposal.
Alongside community efforts, special focus was given to children. Awareness sessions were conducted in schools covering basic civic sense, hygiene, source segregation, and the importance of not littering. The aim was to build habits early, where they are most likely to last.
To encourage responsibility, seven children were selected as “Field Marshals” — young Earth Healers who help monitor cleanliness in the village. They were recognized through school visits and awarded certificates, caps, and badges, reinforcing the idea that civic sense learned young becomes a lifelong value.
What's next
Earth Healers Foundation is working to replicate in Kheel Barser everything that has been achieved in Kheel Jasli — sidewalk gardens, source segregation education, and sustained community engagement. Kheel Barser is at the beginning of a journey that Kheel Jasli is already well into, and we are committed to walking it alongside its residents for the long term.
